The moment fertility patients get their initial set of medications can be overwhelming and confusing. There’s a lot to check for: do you have the right meds? Do they match what your clinic prescribed? What is each one for? We launched MedScan to make things easier from the moment your medications arrive. Berry app users can easily use their phone’s camera to scan their medications for a simple way to add them to the app as well as quickly access storage info, side effects, and high-quality videos on how to administer them.

What We Heard From our Community

We know from talking to many patients that one of the first moments people start to feel overwhelmed during treatment is when they receive their medications from the pharmacy. We get it. The first thing you want to do is open the box and make sure you have everything you need. But taking stock of each medication can be difficult when you don’t know what you’re looking for. Our users challenged us to think of a way to make it easier to sort through their medications, confirm what they had, and add them into the app, so we built MedScan.

What is MedScan?

MedScan uses the camera on your phone to scan the medication boxes that you receive in your prescription delivery. After scanning the boxes, the Berry app will identify the detected medications and ask you to confirm. MedScan not only helps you identify which meds you have, but also lets you enter them into the app more quickly and easily.

After scanning, you can double check your medication list in the app against the medication list you received from your clinic to make sure it's all there. If you’re missing any part of your prescription you can contact your clinic or pharmacy to fill in the gaps and prevent any last minute runs to the pharmacy.

How It Works

To use MedScan:

  1. Click the “Medications” tab at the bottom of the screen

  2. Press the + in the top right corner

  3. Click the camera icon

  4. Use the camera to take photos of your medication boxes, then confirm the suggestions
